How to request an Edit

~ Contact me through Reedsy to tell me about your project. Click on the "Request a Quote" button. There you will be asked several questions. Include this information:

    • Your story's genre or subject
    • A brief overview of your story
    • Whether it is completed or in progress and your estimated word count
    • Any deadlines required

What you receive in a Developmental Edit

With a developmental edit of fiction, I emphasize the development of the main characters as well as the setup of the story's issues/promises/resolution. For non-fiction or memoirs, I assess the reader appeal, the satisfaction factor, and the material's organization.

I will provide a detailed report that examines the structure as a whole and each chapter or scene, and suggest potential rearrangements to strengthen the structure, if needed. I evaluate all strengths and weaknesses. I will include suggestions for deletions or additions if needed to improve the pace, tone, setting, clarity or for continuity. I discuss marketability as applicable.
